Reduce Aerosols while Scaling Teeth with Low Spray Ultrasonic Tips

Magnetostrictive and Piezoelectric scalers are incredibly effective at removing calculus and plaque biofilms. They are also helping dental clinicians reduce fatigue and repetitive strain injuries. During a pandemic, various organizations suggested dental clinicians avoid using these tools because they create aerosols that could increase the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Although some states are starting to allow the use of these tools and give clearer guidelines about using aerosol capturing devices, long term it may be a good idea to look for scalers that simply produce less aerosols from the start.
